Rockdale County Residents Face Ongoing Trash Collection Delays |
B&B Sanitation Addresses Service Interruptions Amid Equipment Failures |
Residents of Rockdale County have been grappling with significant trash collection delays over the past several weeks.
The disruptions began in late November when both of B&B Sanitation's primary trucks experienced mechanical failures, leading to missed pickups for their 2,400 customers.
Owner Betty Burgess acknowledged the challenges, stating, "For one week, our entire customer base wasn't getting trash picked up."
In response, the company enlisted a third-party service to manage the backlog and has been actively communicating with customers to address concerns.
Despite these efforts, some residents, like Indida Birto, reported continued delays as recently as last Friday.
Birto expressed frustration, noting, "At this point, they still haven't collected the trash. If they can give us honest estimates and timelines of what to expect, that would help retain a lot of us."
The service interruptions have led to the loss of approximately 300 to 400 customers and around $10,000 in disputes for B&B Sanitation.
Burgess assured the community that both trucks are expected to be back in service by Monday, aiming to restore normal operations.
She emphasized the company's commitment, stating, "Just give us a chance. We can get it right. We will do whatever it takes to get it right."
In the interim, B&B Sanitation is issuing account credits for missed pickups and following up with every affected customer to ensure satisfaction.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and to report any ongoing issues directly to the company.
